The Road
Innova 921
Continuing my Jostojoo journey with The Road, I have followed my passion for new influences across borders from northern Iran to Serbia, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Morocco and Indonesia. I continue to be delighted by the ability of musicians from disparate backgrounds to collaborate, energize and inspire each other in creating innovative arrangements that joyfully transcend genre. My search for common threads and powerful traditional melodies remains a driving force behind my music and when I can use elements from my Iranian heritage such as the poetry of Rumi to reimagine a song from another culture, time and place, my emotions soar. The freedom of musical expression sustains me; when there is music there is community, there is acceptance, there is life.
